Tricia Montez was born in Turlock, CA on Dec. 7, 1981. She was raised in Denair, CA where she lived until she was 19 yrs. old. As a child, she loved to play board games and play with the other children in her neighborhood. She loved to ride her bike, swim and jump on the trampoline. She also enjoyed roller-skating and later rollerblading. She had a particular tree in her front yard she really liked to climb. At the end of her street was a corn field that she liked to play in and a drainage ditch where she liked to catch lizards.
She attended kindergarten through fifth grade at Hughson Elementary and went to school in Hughson for sixth grade at Emily J. Ross Middle School. She attended Denair Middle School for 7th and 8th grade.
The summer before Tricia’s 7th grade year, her brother, Mike, taught her how to play basketball. This was a very positive thing in both Tricia and Mike’s life. Through this, they grew together as friends. For Tricia, this was a real confidence builder, to have an enjoyable recreational skill she could be good at and relate to others with. She played basketball for her school teams in 7th through the 9th grade, and continued to play for fun and for church basketball through the rest of high school. This hobby would also continue to be enjoyable to her throughout her young adulthood as well.
She attended Denair High School for part of 9th grade and transferred to Turlock High School after that. She stayed there until the middle of 10th grade when she decided to go on home study and graduated high school through home schooling.
When she was 14, she began taking voice lessons from Marie Hyer. In college, she continued her lessons and enjoyed singing in different choirs. She sang with the BYU-Idaho Women’s Choir while she attended school there and also sang in church choirs and a choir at Modesto Junior College. She enjoyed singing solos for church meetings and stake musical productions.
Tricia attended Brigham Young University–Idaho and then moved back home and graduated Modesto Junior College with an Associate's degree in general studies after she finished her prerequisites for dental hygiene. After graduating, she moved to San Jose, California, where she applied to dental hygiene programs.
Tricia’s favorite activities are camping and hiking. Her other hobbies include basketball, music, board games, ping pong, and other activities that take her outside such as bike rides, croquet, bocce ball, etc. She also enjoys tinkering on the guitar.
Tricia had worked with autistic children for 2½ years until she moved to San Jose, California. After moving to San Jose, she got another job working with children with autism, which job she held as of 2009. As of that year, she lived in Campbell, California.
