Michael Montez was born on May 29th, 1977 at Emmanuel Medical Center in Turlock, CA. He lived in the same house in Denair, CA his entire childhood through the age of 19. He graduated from Denair High school. He then worked for a summer in a salmon cannery in Alaska before serving as an LDS missionary in the El Salvador, San Salvador West mission.

About a year into his mission he became ill with typhoid fever. After returning from his mission in the Fall of 1998 he went to Modesto Junior college for a semester before moving to Salt Lake City to live with his brother Dave and his family. He worked there for a while before Dave convinced him to enroll at Ricks college in Rexburg, ID. He started school there in 2000 and was there during the transition from junior college to what is now BYU-Idaho. He graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with clusters in Communications and Spanish.

While attending school he worked a few different summer jobs including pest control applicator, house cleaner in Park City, and home security technician. After graduating, the company he was working for, Pinnacle Security, needed more year round employees to manage the technical program and promoted him to regional manager. As of 2009 he was employed as a regional manager for Pinnacle in their technical department.

On the 25 of August, 2006, Mike married Emmalee Lloyd in Salt Lake City, Utah, and at the end of 2007, Emmalee gave birth to thier first child, Phronia Ruth Montez.

Michael has many interests including the following: basketball, guitar, reading, drawing, writing, board games, volleyball, fitness, ping pong, movies, and several others.
